The term Pulaski County Detention Center means a place or a center that provides housing facility for the prisoners. Housing facility is provided to those prisoners who belong to Pulaski County. Not only the prisoners of Pulaski County but prisoners of Hawkinsville police department are also being rendred with this facility. Pulaski County Detention Center was established in the year 1994. Every day it provides housing facility to around 900 prisoners. This center is divided in to various sections. There are people who are responsible to perform their duties according to the section in which they belong. Various sections of this detention centre are listed below. First is the department of housing and security. The people of this section provide bed facility to the prisoners and also take care of the security of the prisoners. Measures are taken by these people in order to safeguard them. The intake section is responsible for admitting the prisoners who are applicable according to various laws. These people do not take the custody of the wrong people. Prisoners are admitted legally. From time to time, the prisoners are transported to their respective court according to the assigned time. So in order to make the prisoners move to the court, transport section is responsible.

Then there is a training division of Pulaski County Detention Center. The people concerned with this department give training to the employees that have been newly appointed. Training of certain duration is given to them. A medical facility is even provided. The medical department is responsible for it. Heath services are provided for the people. Those who become sick due to any reason are given proper medical treatment. Dental services are even provided. Those who require a physician or a psychiatric care are provided with this facility. Emergency and x ray facilities are also provided. Laundry section washes the bed sheets and the clothes of the inmates. These things are gathered and timely delivered. These are washed once in a month. The linens and the items belonging to inmates are also washed two times a week. Kitchen department takes care of the preparation of the food. If people have any kind of grievances then it is sorted out. A Proper record of the inmates is prepared. Disciplinary actions are taken to impose certain rules and regulations. The activities of the inmates are coordinated. There is a team whose work is to take actions in case of emergency. Various programs are made in order to provide services to the inmates.
